Mexico City has established itself as an ideal destination for medical tourism. Our city offers hospitals and clinics equipped with cutting-edge technology, capable of performing complex procedures with the highest quality standards.
In our practice, international training (Mexico, Spain, and European certifications) allows us to provide each patient with the confidence that they will receive care under globally recognized standards of excellence.
We understand that many international patients wish to have an initial remote consultation before traveling. For this reason, we offer communication through video calls, email, WhatsApp, or other electronic means. These tools are very useful to answer preliminary questions, guide the diagnosis, and help plan the visit to Mexico.
However, it is important to keep in mind that:
To recommend surgery and also to reach the most accurate diagnosis, a complete in-person ophthalmological examination under slit lamp, along with complementary tests such as corneal topography, OCT, or pachymetry, will always be required.
It may happen that, even if a surgical treatment is suggested during a video call, additional findings during the in-person evaluation could require modifying or postponing the surgery. This is always done in the interest of the patient’s safety and well-being.
Personally, I highly recommend the in-person consultation over video calls, since video evaluations can generate endless possible diagnoses and treatments without reaching a precise conclusion about what is truly best for the patient.
Mexico City operates on UTC-6 time zone, generally the same as Chicago (USA). Currently, we do not observe daylight savings time, which may cause seasonal differences with other countries.
When scheduling appointments, we recommend confirming the exact time based on the patient’s country of origin to avoid confusion.
We provide comprehensive support throughout the entire process, from the first electronic communication to the surgery and post-operative care.
