When the cornea is not suitable for laser treatment, lenses are implanted inside the eye. They are divided into:
ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens):
Collamer lens placed between the iris and the lens.
Advantages
Reversible, corrects high myopia (up to -20D) and astigmatism.
Uses
Stable keratoconus, thin corneas.
Correct distance vision (need glasses for near vision).
Intermediate and distance vision (less dependence on glasses).
Allows distance, intermediate, and near vision (without glasses).
Risk: Nighttime halos.
